Bell Lumber & Pole to hire 30 in Sidney

Bell Lumber & Pole Company, which produces treated wooden utility poles, received a $605,000 community block grant to acquire machinery and equipment for its new manufacturing facility in Sidney. It will create 30 full-time jobs.

The block grant is a loan from Cheyenne County to purchase machinery and equipment. Bell plans to spend an additional $8.4 million at the facility. Bell first announced plans for the Sidney facility in early 2013.

The company chose to locate there because of access to major railroad lines and its proximity to major markets.
