820 health care jobs coming to Omaha

Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, a Catholic hospital based in Lincoln, plans to open a sister campus in Omaha in 2016. The Omaha hospital project will create 250 construction jobs. When completed, the hospital will have an initial staff of 200.

In addition to the initial hospital staff, it is expected to create 820 jobs once it is operational. That will translate to about $22 million in cumulative annual wages. About 400 additional jobs are expected to be created for those working for affiliated products and service providers.

Once completed, it is expected to have an economic impact of $86 million. The price tag for the entire project, including the 110-bed facility, is $93 million.
