Nonprofit hiring, training Nebraska seniors

The nonprofit organization Experience Works, which is in nearly every county in Nebraska, is offering employment opportunities to low-income senior citizens in the state.

It offers paid community service assignments at nonprofit organizations. The group also provides training, referrals and job search assistance.

To qualify, participants must be 55 or older, reside in southeastern Nebraska and meet income requirements. Household income for one person cannot exceed $14,588 and cannot exceed $19,663 for two people in a household. See details about job opportunities here.

The program is designed to offer seniors a training wage, and the opportunity to train for permanent positions with employers in the local area.
