University expansion will bring jobs, grow enrollment

The University of Nebraska Omaha has planned a $15 million addition at the College of Business Administration that is intended to grow staff and student numbers, and add much needed square footage.

The business college hopes to add eight to its 60-member faculty, and grow the student enrollment by 800. The business college currently has an enrollment of about 2,400. As a whole, the university plans to increase enrollment to 20,000 by 2020.

A building expansion would be added to the west side of Mammel Hall. The business college hopes to add new programs, including one with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and a Scholars Academy.

University officials hope the project will be a reality in the next two to three years.
