Omaha legislative forum to focus on job growth

A legislative forum scheduled for Oct. 23 in Omaha, and hosted by the Greater Omaha Chamber and the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will bring legislators and business leaders together to discuss job growth in Nebraska.

The event has been held for more than 30 years. This year’s event is free, and will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the DC Centre, 11830 Stonegate Drive.

Member’s of Omaha’s legislative delegations will present remarks and take questions from the audience. Areas of focus will include business-related bills in the 2014 legislative session; issues that could come before the Legislature in 2015; latest state rankings that are important to the business community and workforce challenges.

“Job creation and workforce issues, along with the economy and government regulation, continue to be the most pressing issues facing most Nebraska communities. These legislative forums will give local leaders more insight into the factors helping and hurting our state’s economic climate and growth potential,” said Barry Kennedy, president of the Nebraska Chamber.
