Omaha Steaks to add 4,000 positions in Nebraska

Omaha Steaks, a Nebraska meat distributor founded in 1917, plans to hire additional staff to meet customer needs this holiday season. The company will begin interviewing potential employees at job fairs beginning Oct. 6. Applicants may also visit

Most of the positions will be in Omaha, but additional staff will be needed in Bellevue and near Gretna. At jobs fairs, applicants can do onsite testing and interviews. Jobs will be in the company’s call center and warehouse, and local truck drivers will be needed. The company expects to hire more than 4,000 seasonal employees.

“We are looking to fill a variety of positions including office staff, logistics clerks, local truck drivers, inbound, customer care and warehouse positions,” said Brian DeVeney, employment and training manager. “Holiday hires have the potential to earn $2,500 over the holiday season and receive our employee discount for an entire year.”

As an added perk, DeVeney said the company will enter new hires into weekly drawings to win $1,000 in cash during November and December.

“We know the metro area is competitive when it comes to hiring,” he said. “We want the very best people to help us deliver the gift of Omaha Steaks this holiday season.”
