Check out 50 hotel positions set for Omaha

Two hotels set for southeast Omaha will sit side-by-side and, when completed, provide about 50 hotel jobs. The $15 million project calls for a 78-room Holiday Inn Express and an 80-room Candlewood Suites.

The Holiday Inn is designed for shorter stays, while the Candlewood is targeted toward the extended-stay traveler. The developer of the two properties is Slowey Management. The hotels will be affiliated with Intercontinental Hotels Group.

Slowey has hotels in Nebraska, South Dakota and Iowa. The company’s other two Nebraska properties are a Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites in Bellevue.

Work is set to begin on the Holiday Inn this month and take about nine months to build. When it nears completion, work will being on Candlewood. Each hotel will provide about 25 jobs.
