Omaha entrepreneur to open Toppers Pizza

Toppers Pizza plans to open an eatery at 7010 Dodge St. in Omaha early next year. The co-owner is Jeff Pickering, a budding restaurateur who has partnered with Jon Crowe on the venture.

The restaurant will bring jobs, and pizza, and the opportunity for Pickering to expand his business knowledge while growing a popular brand. He began working in restaurants as a teenager, and continued to work in the food service industry while in college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Crowe is the owner of Toppers franchises in Omaha and Lincoln and brought Pickering into the fold with partial ownership in the planned store. After the Dodge Street store opens, Pickering hopes to have an ownership stake in future stores, and to advance within the company.

Plans call for five more Toppers stores by the end of 2015. The next one to open is planned for Lincoln.
