Freddy’s Frozen Custard brings 50 jobs to Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. – The second Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Lincoln recently opened, bringing with it 50 jobs.

The new store opened near 180th Street and West Center Road. Another Freddy’s opened recently in Millard near 136th and Q streets.

The most recent Lincoln store is a free-standing restaurant with a patio and a drive-thru.

The chain was started by World War II veteran Freddy Simon to celebrate hamburgers from the 1950s. The brand’s steakburger is a throwback to the staple of 1950s dining. The burgers are cooked to order, and are not prepared until they are ordered.

Simon’s sons, Bill and Randy, run the chain alongside restaurateur Scott Redler.
