Chick-fil-A plans first Lincoln store

LINCOLN, Neb. – The wait soon will be over for fans of Chick-fil-A in Lincoln who have lamented the absence of the chicken sandwich chain in the city.

In a recently closed Macaroni Grill, Chick-fil-A confirmed it plans to open a store in that location at 6800 S. 27th St. The company plans to raze the existing building to construct a standalone Chick-fil-A. It is expected to built in the latter half of 2015.

Documents filed with the Lincoln Planning Department showed the chicken chain plans to tear down the existing 6,900-square-foot Macaroni Grill and build a 4,815-square-foot Chick-fil-A.
