Nebraska posts job gains for November

OMAHA, Neb. – Nebraska’s unemployment rate continued to decline in November as the state added jobs in the transportation and utilities industries. Numbers this low have not been seen since early 2008, according to the Nebraska Department of Labor.

Unemployment for the month was at 3.1 percent, a decrease from 3.4 percent in October. In November 2013, the number was reported at 3.7 percent.

The numbers for this November did not break the state record, but Nebraska was the state with the second lowest rate, and was at a level that economists consider full employment. The record was achieved in 1998 when state unemployment was reported at 2.2 percent.
