Omaha’s HDR plans 700 new employees, additional offices

OMAHA – HDR, a multi-faceted architectural and engineering firm, plans to add 700 jobs and 25 additional offices to grow its workforce to about 9,200.

The company recently acquired Tennessee-based Infrastructure Corp. of America and Georgia-based MEI. ICA specializes in transportation engineering, asset maintenance and management. MEI is a liquid natural gas consulting firm.

ICA will do business as HDR/ICA and MEI will do business as HDR/MEI.

“We’ve set a goal of cutting 10 percent of the owner’s cost over the life cycle of HDR-designed and constructed facilities by improving the delivery process,” said George A. Little, HDR Inc. chairman and CEO. “Both MEI and ICA offer unique capabilities that will help our clients stretch their capital dollars and maximize operational efficiency.”
