Berkshire Hathaway ranks third on Fortune list

OMAHA, Neb. – Berkshire Hathaway, the company led by Omaha billionaire Warren Buffet, has been ranked the third most admired company in the world by Fortune.

The company moved up one notch from its place on the list last year.

Fortune noted that the multinational holding company has diverse investments from railroads to Heinz ketchup. And last year, Fortune reported the company hit the $300 billion market cap for the fist time.

The magazine also ranked Berkshire first in the categories of innovation; people management; use of corporate assets; quality of management; financial soundness and long-term investment value.

The company placed behind Apple and Google for top spots on the yearly list.
