GOBankingRates says to live well, save, head to Nebraska

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha and Lincoln each ranked in the top 10 for the best places to live and save money, according to GOBankingRates. The survey ranked Lincoln No. 3 and Omaha No. 6.

The survey pointed out that many people cannot afford to live in cities like San Francisco, New York or Los Angeles, and instead have sought cities like Omaha and Lincoln for the quality of life and affordability.

It took into consideration factors including sales tax, median home or condo value, median monthly rent, median income, unemployment and gas prices.

While Nebraska’s sometimes harsh winters were listed as one downside, low unemployment, and low home prices were factors that the survey found were positives for those looking for a new home.
