ScanMed plans growth, expansion in 2015

OMAHA, Neb. — ScanMed had a banner year in 2014 and has even bigger things in store for 2015. It plans to increase its sales and production this year at its facility in west Omaha.

After a decade in the research and development phase, ScanMed is ready to stoke up business for its magnetic coils that are used to generate images of the human body. It already has its products in use at UCLA, Duke University and the Mayo Clinic.

A new patent, issued to the company in November, covers two of its products that are used by radiologists to college images of patient’s prostate. That will help it continue its growth and development of new products.
