TechHire to bring job training to Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb. — A national program called TechHire will provide training for technology jobs in Kearney.

Pres. Barack Obama announced the plan, which will train workers for high-paying jobs in the technology sector. It will extend to 21 communities around the country, including Kearney.

It will allow officials in Kearney to learn and share best practices to train and grow the local workforce. The next step will be to locate a facility for the training program.

Xpanxion, a software development company, pushed for the program in Kearney. It has about 85 employees in the city.
