Engineer plans new Approach with climbing gym

OMAHA, Neb. — An architectural engineer has decided to step away from her chosen profession and follow a dream to open a climbing gym called Approach.

Sarahjoy Allen plans to open the indoor climbing facility in August with a staff of 12. Approach and will be housed in a 12,000-square-foot space near 72nd and L streets. Allen is opening the facility with her husband, Brian.

Approach will feature climbing activities like top-roping, lead climbing, speed walls, bouldering and other climbing challenges. It will offer activities for individuals with various levels of climbing skills, corporate groups and children.
