Westroads Mall in Omaha set for food court overhaul

OMAHA, Neb. — Westroads Mall plans to breathe new life into its food court with a whole new look and feel. Omaha’s Flagship Restaurant Group has been brought in to redesign the food court to bring in more gourmet fare.

The 21,000-square-foot space will be outfitted with eateries offering things like sushi, ramen, tacos and a full bar. It will be dubbed the Food Hall.

The last time the food court was updated was in 1990, according to mall management. The move is designed to bring more people to the mall with food options other than bland and limited offerings from the past.

It will be a test for General Growth Properties as it looks to update the food courts at its 120 malls around the country.
